Located in the emblematic Ruzafa neighborhood, this 90 sqm appartment represents an exercise in balance between the recovery of architectural heritage and the functionality of contemporary design. This renovation project was born from the premise of preserving the property’s original essence, stripping back the structure to reveal the nobility of its materials.
The intervention highlights the traditional Valencian construction system. The wooden beams and solid brick vaults have been meticulously restored, their warmth engaging in a dialogue with new white walls and materials in light tones. Exposed brick elements have been maintained as accent points that bring texture and warmth to the overall space.
To reinforce its historical character, ceramic mosaic “rugs” have been designed to delimit the different areas, visually recovering the tradition of hydraulic flooring but with a modern interpretation. This duality is also carried through to the bathrooms, where cutting-edge materials reinterpret the geometry of ancient tiles, guaranteeing modern comfort without losing the common thread of the original home. The result is an open, luminous space where the architecture of the past and the vision of the present coexist in perfect harmony.
