Vicente Lleó

This renovation project arose as a result of Cicerone’s intervention in the acquisition of an old residence in the neighborhood of En Corts. Since the intention was to convert it into a boutique hotel, the first step was the development of a complete architectural project to change its use. The proposed restoration was carried out meticulously, preserving all its original charm. The combination of original elements with modern finishes and amenities achieved a perfect balance between the historic and the contemporary.

Due to the property’s deterioration, significant rehabilitation work was undertaken in the initial phase to transform it into a safe and comfortable space. These works included the installation of a new roof and structural reinforcement of the main floor, carried out from above to preserve the original wooden structure. Additionally, most of the original exposed brick partitions were recovered, and all wooden elements underwent pest treatment. The carpentry work strictly followed the project’s main objective: to restore and integrate as many original elements as possible. This included refurbishing all the property’s original doors and manufacturing new ones with the same design.

As this was a hotel, certain regulatory requirements had to be met, such as installing an industrial kitchen and an elevator to make the property accessible for people with reduced mobility. Another key feature was the installation of solar panels to enhance the hotel’s sustainability and energy efficiency.

As for the distribution of spaces, there is a clear differentiation between the two levels. The first floor houses the common areas for guests and stands out for its magnificent connection between the interior space and the terrace, an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city. The intimate and cozy atmosphere of the first floor extended to the upper floor, where four spacious bedrooms are located, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The interior design was carefully designed, providing personality and character, thus completing an exclusive architectural project.

This full renovation in the En Corts neighborhood is a clear example of how the fusion of history, design, and sustainability can transform an old house into an elegant boutique hotel. If you are looking for a construction company to carry out your renovation project, Cicerone offers all its professional experience to advise and guide you throughout the process.
