This renovation project stemmed from Cicerone’s intervention in the acquisition of an old residence in the En Corts neighborhood. Given the intention to convert it into a boutique hotel, the first step was the development of a complete architectural project to change its use. The combination of original elements with modern finishes and amenities achieved a perfect balance between the historic and the contemporary.
Due to the property’s deterioration, significant rehabilitation work was undertaken in the initial phase to transform it into a safe and comfortable space. These works included the installation of a new roof and structural reinforcement of the main floor, carried out from above to preserve the original wooden structure. Additionally, most of the original exposed brick partitions were recovered, and all wooden elements underwent pest treatment. The carpentry work strictly followed the project’s main objective: to restore and integrate as many original elements as possible. This included refurbishing all the property’s original doors and manufacturing new ones with the same design.
Regarding the distribution of spaces, there is a clear differentiation between both levels. The ground floor houses the common areas for guests, notable for its magnificent connection between the interior space and the terrace, an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city. The intimate and welcoming atmosphere of the ground floor extends to the upper floor, where four spacious rooms are located, each with its own en suite bathroom.
