The mission of this renovation project was to transform an old house into a practical and modern apartment that would serve as accommodation for the owner during his stays in Valencia. The goal was to achieve a simple and functional distribution. The result was a two-bedroom apartment with two full bathrooms and a living-dining room with integrated kitchen.
The owner’s European background is reflected in a contemporary and elegant style with a clear predominance of gray tones. The natural wood niches in the kitchen and breakfast bar, along with the different sections of exposed brickwork, stand out beautifully against the light tones of the rest of the apartment. Similarly, the use of dark metal carpentry and furniture creates a striking contrast with the cooler shades, adding a touch of sophistication to the space.
The project incorporated a carefully designed modern lighting scheme, focusing on small, integrated downlights in the false ceiling with cool tones, as well as indirect warm lighting through LED strips. The high ceilings allowed for the installation of ducted air conditioning without compromising height, maintaining the spacious feel of the apartment. In line with the owner’s preference for simplicity and functionality, a light-colored, easy-to-clean porcelain floor was installed.
